NASA halts SEWP VI amid unanswered questions from industry
NASA has paused its SEWP VI governmentwide acquisition contract due to industry pressure over a lack of clarity, with more than 6,700 questions submitted and only about 120 answered. FedNewsNetwork reports the ambiguity in the procurement process led to an old-school letter-writing campaign (although posted on LinkedIn) urging NASA to address unresolved issues. NASA announced the pause on SAM.gov to improve engagement and transparency, extending the proposal due date and resolve unclear proposal instructions and evaluation criteria, particularly for mentor-protégé joint ventures. Some vendors were preparing the inevitable preaward protests due to the unclear requirements; the pause aims to resolve these and other issues. NASA's SEWP program office has not commented further.
