Microsoft deepens AI integration in Office, but enterprises will pay for it
Microsoft is enhancing its Microsoft 365 Copilot AI assistant with new features across its Office suite, reports the Verge. After endowing Excel with Python last year, Microsoft now adds AI code-writing for advanced analysis, PowerPoint improves its narrative builder, and Word can now references data from email and meetings. Outlook introduces inbox prioritization, and Teams can now summarize both text and spoken conversations. OneDrive is getting Copilot integration for file comparison. These updates aim to make Copilot more attractive to businesses, addressing recent reports of lukewarm reception due to bugs and pricing concerns. Microsoft reports that 60% of Fortune 500 companies now use Copilot, with Vodafone signing up for 68,000 licenses.
