FBI raids Carahsoft HQ as part of investigation involving a past business partner
FBI conducted raided the headquarters of Carahsoft Technology Corp. in Reston, Virginia—a major IT and software reseller to the Pentagon and across the government—on Tuesday morning , per Defense One. An FBI spokesperson confirmed the raid but declined to provide further details. Carahsoft CEO Craig Abod informed employees that the raid was related to an investigation into a company that Carahsoft had previously done business with and assured that Carahsoft is fully cooperating and continuing normal operations.
The company turned GSA Schedule consulting and reselling into IT sales dominance across government agencies and contract vehicles, even as protections against contract compliance requirements have eroded for its clients. By offering fee-for-channel-access, Carahsoft enables new entrants to sell through to government clients. Its compliance risk surface is correspondingly broad.
