Virgin Atlantic rolls back gender-neutral crew policy for new Saudi Arabia route

The airline, which typically allows crew members to choose uniforms regardless of gender, is advising staff on Saudi flights to wear uniforms matching their passport gender. This decision follows a risk assessment for crew safety in Saudi Arabia, where LGBTQ+ rights are limited. Virgin Atlantic's CEO, Shai Weiss, emphasized the airline's commitment to inclusivity while participating in Saudi Vision 2030's tourism growth. The move highlights the challenges global companies face in balancing corporate values with local cultural norms and regulations. This development comes as Saudi Arabia aims to boost tourism, targeting 150 million annual visitors by 2030.
